The social season has officially arrived in Henley-in-Arden, and it appears the town is more than ready to channel its inner Jane Austen. The Henley Memorial Trust is delighted to announce that tickets for the highly anticipated Grand Regency Ball have already reached the 50% sold mark, with momentum building as the event draws closer.
Scheduled for Saturday, 23rd May 2026, this "Bridgerton-style" evening is not only set to be the highlight of the local calendar but serves as a vital fundraising event. All proceeds will go directly toward the Henley Memorial Hall (part of the Henley Memorial Trust), supporting the continued preservation and operation of this cherished community landmark.
With capacity strictly limited to just 70 guests to ensure a comfortable and elegant dancing environment, organizers are urging residents and visitors alike to secure their places before the "carriages" are fully booked.“The buzz following the recent parish assembly was clear—Henley is ready for some Regency elegance,” said a spokesperson for the Trust. “Whether you are a seasoned dancer or a total beginner, this event is designed for everyone. It’s an opportunity to dress up, enjoy world-class period music, and most importantly, support the Memorial Hall.”
An All-Inclusive Evening of Elegance
The £45 all-inclusive ticket offers a full program of high-society entertainment. The evening features dancing led by the Warwick Regency Dancers, accompanied by the sweeping, authentic sounds of live period band, Mr Sayer’s Players. No previous experience is necessary, as a Dance Master will guide guests through every step.
The experience includes:
Free Afternoon Workshop: (13:30 – 15:30) for those wishing to brush up on their steps in a relaxed environment.
The Grand Ball: Doors open at 19:00 with a welcome drink included.
Regency Buffet: A sumptuous selection of sweet and savoury refreshments catered by local favourite, The Brookie Bean.
Keepsakes: Each guest will receive a beautiful dance card and favour to remember the night.
Dress for the Occasion
While "Regency Finery" is encouraged to help transport the hall back to the early 19th century, the Trust emphasizes that the event is about atmosphere over stress. Long evening dresses or smart suits are perfectly acceptable alternatives for those without period costumes.
